The competition caters for all students from different age groups and levels and offers three categories - soccer, dance and rescue.
RoboCup Junior Soccer rules and additional information can be found at http://www.robocupjunior.org.au/soccer
Note - There will be no separate soccer leagues (Novice and Open) - unlike the State and National Competition, CQJRC will run only one soccer league.
The dance competition is designed to entertain, delight and thrill the audience. This creative challenge requires teams to design robot/s which dance to music and may also involve costumes and props. The dance must be between 1 to 3 minutes in length. Each team consists of at least one robot and up to 7 humans. The challenge is intended to be as open ended as participants choose to make it. The junior dance competition includes 'dance theatre' and 'dance performance' categories whilst the senior dance competition includes a single 'ópen dance' category (unlike the State and National Competition).

In this 'simulated emergency rescue', a terrible earthquake has hit a city causing a large chemical storage unit to rupture, spilling thousands of litres of toxic chemicals. There is a person trapped on a sinking water tank in the middle of the chemical spill. Rescue crews
are having trouble entering the city with the amount of rubble around and rescue from the air has also been ruled out due to the noxious gases rising around the city.
The rescue challenge includes the option of two categories:
CQJRC will be basing Rescue and Premier Rescue on the 2013 RoboCup rules (with the exception that there will be no "raised platforms").
