The purpose of 160 hours (full time over 4 weeks or part time over 7 weeks) of supernumerary (unpaid) clinical placement in the CRNRC program is to provide students with an opportunity to refresh and/or upgrade their skills in the clinical setting and to demonstrate minimum competence at a beginning RN practitioner level as per the ANMC Competency Standards (2006). Not only will you utilise your learning in the online modules and attendance of the Clinical Skills Workshop prior to attending placement, but your previous nursing experience also.
Placement opportunities will be discussed between the student and the CPHE throughout the course but ultimately it will be formally arranged by the CPHE and the facility together. All attempts will be made to obtain the facility of your request and as close to your residence as possible however cannot be guaranteed.
Prior to attending Clinical Placement, students must have first successfully completed all 10 theoretical modules, attended the 3 day Clinical Skills Workshop and CQUniversity’s clinical placement pre-requisites.
