Re-entry Course

Nurse Re-Entry now available in 2012……..

CQUniversity’s Registered Nurse Re-Entry Course (CRNRC) is currently the only course of its kind offered in Queensland. The online course is designed for Registered Nurses who have let their registration lapse or have not practiced for a minimum of 5 years.

To be eligible to enrol in the CRNRC you must first apply the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) for permission to gain registration. This can be done here. Prior to applying for this permission please take the time to review the Re-entry to practice policy first as to whether you meet the criteria to gain your registration back through re-entry or whether you will need to re-qualify through other means. Once you have received a letter from the NMBA referring you to complete an NMBA approved re-entry course you may then apply for one of the CRNRC course intakes.

Total cost of the CRNRC program is $9165 (price subject to change without notice), or can be broken down into 2 part payments of $4600. The RCNA offers a $6000 re-entry scholarship for the nurse re-entry program and more information can be found on their website.

The course consists of 10 online modules, a 3 day compulsory Clinical Skills Workshop at our CQU Noosa Campus and 160 hours of supernumerary clinical placement in a CPHE approved facility. Progression of the program is detailed in the image below.

Upon successful completion of the CRNRC you will be recommended to the Board for Registration.

Please note that completion of the CRNRC program does not guarantee you registration. The final decision is that of AHPRA.
