The Centre for Professional Health Education can customise continuing professional development to individual facility needs, ranging from hourly in-service sessions, 2 hour, half day and full day workshops and short courses.
CQUniversity Australia is an authorised provider of endorsed courses (APEC) by the Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) and can allocate RCNA Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) points as part of RCNA's Life Long Learning Program (3LP)
NCATS assessment has been designed to be both comprehensive and flexible in that it aligns its’ testing processes as closely as possible with the most recent clinical experience of the nurse, encouraging the nurse to demonstrate their best abilities in a familiar context in line with the ANMC minimum standards for practice. For example: if the nurse’s most recent area of clinical practice is aged care, then the testing scenarios will reflect contemporary best practice in that health care delivery setting.
A comprehensive post-assessment/testing report provides objective verification of the nurse's performance in relation to the ANMC minimum standards and, where required, details educational and practice performance gaps in foundational knowledge, critical thinking ability, psycho-motor performance and professional approach. Detailed feedback and recommendations can assist the nurse, employer or other interested party in remedial strategy development.
An online course/workshop (worth CPD points) that would be recognised by Qld Health facilities as a formidable way for these nurses to refresh their knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and clinical skills to be able to confidently, and competently gain employment in an acute setting.
