The Centre for Professional Health Education was established to provide a variety of professional development and continuing education opportunities for health professionals. The Centre for Professional Health Education currently offers the only Registered Nurse re-entry course in Queensland, and offers it as an online distance course with clinical placement in the applicants own region making it accessible to anyone in Australia interested in returning to nursing.
The Centre for Professional Health Education is affiliated with CQUniversity Australia, a multi-campus institution with a long history in distance education. CQUniversity’s vision to provide excellence in education targeted at industry and community needs are reflected in the courses offered by the Centre for Professional Health Education.
Programs and courses can be tailored to meet the individual needs of a facility ranging from hourly in-service sessions, full day workshops and short courses alongside the regular Specialty Studies post graduate courses. Short courses are based on current accreditation and training needs such as regular clinical updates and legal issues for nursing practice and attract CPD points. Consultancies are tailored to individual facility requirements and include clinical audits and training needs analysis.
