Born in India, Param is a strong advocate of social start-ups and has won multiple awards, including Australia-India Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013, Global Alumni of Australia in 2016, and Australians Making a Difference in India, awarded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2018. His first educational start-up, the Cantillon Institute in Australia, won six state and national awards and was acquired by an Australian publicly listed company in 2015.

With a vision to help 100 million people, Param founded his second start-up, MoooFarm, which has raised over 15 million USD and won many global awards, including the InsureTech challenge from the World Bank Group in 2019 for facial recognition of cows and Startup India – Ministry of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (Government of India) Grand Challenge in 2020 for e-advisory services to dairy farmers. In 2021, Mooofarm co-founders were awarded the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia award. In 2022, Mooofarm won the most prestigious Dairy Innovation award in the socio-economic category at the World Dairy Summit. MoooFarm mobile application has been downloaded by more than 1.8 million farmers to connect with qualified veterinarians, order farm inputs, access financial services, manage their farms and cattle, and engage with subject matter experts to make dairy profitable.

During COVID-19 lockdowns in India, Param launched the Tech for Good charity in Australia and partnered with Canva’s Force for Good initiative to train and support more than 15,000 young girls in digital skills. He received a “500 Global Prominent Personalities” award from the Government of Punjab on Guru Nanak’s 550th Birthday for helping more than 10,000 youth in skills training and employment in the state. Param is also a recipient of a prestigious scholarship from Stanford University in Social Entrepreneurship.

Param’s multiple entrepreneurial ventures have contributed skills transfer to tens of thousands of people and are providing tangible financial outcomes through enhanced employability and increased profitability to lift people out of poverty in India.
