CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund

Learning doesn’t stop after graduation, and neither does the support we offer our graduates.

The CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund is part of our commitment to lifelong support for our alumni. The Fund offers grants of up to $1000 for graduates to pursue the knowledge and skills they need to make a big impact in their communities.

The Alumni Development Fund is made possible by generous donations from CQUni staff, graduates and partner organisations. Find out how your support can nurture stronger communities.

Who can apply to the fund?

You’re eligible to apply to the fund if you’ve graduated from CQUniversity with a vocational or higher education qualification.

How can I apply to the fund?

Complete the application form and email your application (including supporting documents) to alumni-enquiries@cqu.edu.au.

Access free short courses

CQUni graduates can access free and low-cost professional development through our Be Different platform.

The Coaching and Mentoring for Alumni micro-credential is free for CQUni alumni, and is available through the Be Different platform. Participants receive a digital badge to display in a professional portfolio that acknowledges the completion of professional development.

Boost your skillset or launch the next stage of your career

Access career resources like resume builders, interview tips, a positions vacant board (to post or view jobs) and more through Career Hub.

Receive personal assistance from the CQU Careers Team in up to 5 careers counselling sessions as well as a resume and job application checking service.

A few weeks after you become eligible to graduate, your student access to the CQUniversity library and e-databases will expire. However, you can apply for alumni access so you can keep using this great resource to stay current with new research and publications in your field.

Electronic database access

Alumni can access a select range of databases. The CQUniversity Library has the latest information about which databases are currently available to alumni, plus links to open access resources.

The first time you want to access these resources you will need to complete this Application for e-Database Access form and send it to the Alumni Relations Team.

Due to changing vendor license conditions the range of databases available to CQUniversity alumni may alter. Please refer to this page regularly for the latest information.

Library access

Alumni can apply for free annual membership of CQUniversity's library. Please visit a library on any of our campuses where the library is publicly available to apply for a borrowing card. Physical loans must be borrowed in person. Visit the library website for further details about alumni borrowing information and regulations.

University networks

Graduates in China

Australia China Alumni Association

China-based alumni can join the Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA), an overarching program for all China-based graduates of Australian universities. ACAA membership is free and is a great opportunity for you to attend events, mentor (or be mentored), meet other graduates of Australian universities, hear about job vacancies and more. We encourage you to take advantage of the range of benefits on offer and join ACAA.

Australia China Alumni Awards

The prestigious Australia China Alumni Awards recognise outstanding work from Australian university graduates living in China. If you’d like to be considered for the Awards, ensure your location and employment details are up-to-date.

Lifelong email account

CQUni Mail is the name of the University's email system that is provided by Google. All recent graduates have a CQUni Mail email address which they can continue to use after graduation. If you graduated before CQUni Mail was in use and would like a @cqumail.com email address, please contact us.

Communications and events

Alumni have access to a range of free communications to keep you up-to-date with the latest news, initiatives and opportunities. Events are sent based on the location recorded in our alumni database - update your contact and employment details to ensure you hear relevant news, initiatives and opportunities.

Moodle and ePortfolio access

Course notes and subject outlines are available through Moodle for up to three years after graduation (this is dependent on the archiving schedule).

All CQUniversity graduates have access to the ePortfolio tool Portfolium. Alumni have lifetime access to Portfolium, to help showcase your academic work, achievements and graduate attributes. This career support tool supplements the traditional resume by directly highlighting skills and capabilities.

Access to Moodle and Portfolium is via the student portal using your existing CQU Username and Password. If you can’t remember your username or need your password reset, contact the Information Technology Helpdesk. You can contact the Helpdesk on free call (within Australia) on 1300 666 620 or email: tasac@cqu.edu.au. Please include your student ID number in your request.

Bookshop discounts

CQUni Alumni receive free shipping (within Australia) on Bookshop orders over $25. Apply the discount.

Creative and Performing Arts discounts – Mackay

The School of Education and The Arts, incorporating the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, encourages all CQUniversity Alumni to become a "Friend of the Conservatorium" to access advance bookings and special concession rates to a variety of concerts, master-classes and exhibitions presented by the School. Your support will benefit the next generation of performers studying at the Conservatorium.

Gym membership – Rockhampton

Rockhampton-based graduates can achieve a more active, healthy and relaxed lifestyle by joining the CQU gym, located on the North Rockhampton campus. The Centre’s facilities include an indoor and outdoor gym, heated pool, a large variety of classes, free tennis court hire and an athletics oval.
