The CQUniversity Tradition

It's been 40 years since CQUniversity Australia opened its doors. In that time the University has grown from a small Rockhampton-based campus to a major international operation.

In 1967, CQUniversity was known as the Queensland Institute of Technology, Capricornia, and had only 19 full-time and 52 part-time students.  CQUniversity achieved full university status in 1992, and today has 10 campuses and teaching centres catering for approximately 20, 000 students from all over the world.
