To ensure that you receive all relevant assistance available to you, it is important that you register with the Student Support Centre as early as possible. This will allow sufficient time to organise your support requirements, as some assistive services can take up to several weeks to organise. If you are unsure as to whether you should register with the Student Support Centre (SSC) Disability Service or not, please contact the Disability & Intake Officer to discuss your options.
The personal and medical information you provide to the Disability Service is confidential and not released to third parties, unless authorised by yourself to do so or for legal reasons. To help you make an informed decision regarding disclosure to the University about your condition, please see the following link "To tell or not to tell" via the ADCET website .
A personalised Disability Support Plan will be developed with you by our support staff (at your campus or by telephone), which includes recommendations for adjustments or assistive services which you may require. This Plan will be emailed to your student email address for your record.
IMPORTANT: Students are required to register each calendar year they are enrolled.
If your condition has not changed since last year (including the impact of your condition on your studies) you will need to complete the Registration form and sign where indicated. This form then needs to be returned to the Disability & Intake Officer. You do not need to supply any further medical information or undertake an intake Interview.
If your condition or its impact on your studies has changed please complete all sections of the Registration form and provide the Treating Health Professionals Report. These forms then need to be returned to the Disability & Intake Officer who will contact you to discuss changes.
