As a new student to CQUniversity, you will receive a lot of information that you need to know about commencing your studies. Whether you are straight out of highschool or are now deciding to study later in life, knowing where to start is always helpful. This website will provide you with a starting point to get you on your way to a successful first term with CQUniversity.
For those students who would like additional assistance, the First Year Experience team provide support and advice to CQUniversity students who are in their first year of study. If you are a first year student in need of assistance and you are not sure what to do, please email firstyear@cqu.edu.au or attend one of the regular drop in sessions on regional campuses during term.
To help you on your journey, we have designed the Enrolment Made Easy website to assist you to complete the steps required to ensure a smooth and successful commencement or continuation of your study. This should be the first place you visit as a first year student.
If you are unsure what to enrol in, please refer to the appropriate program planner for initial assistance with enrolling. A program planner provides you with suggested course enrolment for the year and term you are commencing.
This is a short compulsory questionnaire that commencing undergraduate students complete to identify resources and forms of support that can assist them to meet their learning goals. Students must complete this survey so that the University can be proactive in personalising assistance to suit individual needs. Access to the survey is provided through a link, which is emailed to students.
Orientation (or O-week) is fun and informative and provides an excellent opportunity to meet academic and support staff, student mentors and other students. Orientation sessions are designed to introduce you to academic life, support services and the administrative systems essential for you to manage your study program.
