Academic Assistance

Below outlines the Academic Assistance available to you. If you are seeking assistance from an Academic staff member, you will need to contact your Course Coordinator directly.

Academic Learning Services (ALS)

As part of the Division of Library and Academic Learning Services, Academic Learning Services offers free academic assistance to students of CQUniversity, irrespective of mode of study.

  • Communications Learning Centre - The Communications Learning Centre (CLC) is here to provide CQUniversity students with the opportunities and high quality support to develop and improve academic writing and oral communication skills.
  • Mathematics Learning Centre - Many students who enrol in a program of study which contains a component of mathematics or statistics do experience some difficulty, especially in first and second year. The Mathematics Learning Centre (MLC) can assist with an understanding of the mathematics and statistics content of courses. The MLC is a free service for CQUniversity students.

Study Skills

Becoming a successful student is not a matter of chance or even academic ability. In order to be a successful student and minimise the stress associated with study you need to be organised and know how to study.

Monitoring Academic Progress (MAP)

The Monitoring Academic Progress (MAP) process provides early intervention to those students who are at risk of making unsatisfactory academic progress.

Study - Academic Counselling

The counselling section of CQUniversity Student Support Centre can help with personal issues that may impede your academic progress and your personal professional development. They will also help you to acquire effective study skills like motivation and time management which are requisite for successful tertiary study.
