An initiative of the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM), Jammin' enables high school students to participate in an intensive and inspirational music making experience. Mentored by staff and students from CQCM, Jammin' students receive three to four days of tuition in jazz and contemporary popular music before showcasing their talents in the Jammin' concert. CQUniversity Australia has hosted Jammin' at Mackay since 2006, Cairns since 2008 and at Rockhampton since 2010. Jammin' is a musical experience not to be missed.
Luke McIntosh - former Jammin' student
'Jammin'gave me a taste of University life and help me to make an informed decision about the course I was to undertake. The interaction I had with Music and Theatre staff and students was a great extension of the things I was working on in my school music program. The Jammin' experience helped ease the transition from school to University and develop friendships and contacts.'
