School Engagement

School engagement is a crucial component of our ongoing vision to make university more accessible and relevant to all school students.

We are committed to helping your student be what they want to be and achieve success. Our degrees open the door to career opportunities in Australia and overseas, preparing your students with the skills and knowledge to ensure your students are work-ready when they graduate.

We have a number of activities designed specifically for high school aged students to prepare them for a music or theatre degree at CQUniversity. These activities are engaging, educational and fun and allow students to meet and work with CQCM staff and current students.

Four key initiatives lead by the CQCM include:

  • Choices Applied Theatre Project
    Choices
is an applied theatre project which promotes key safety messages around alcohol, drugs and sexual activity for young people, by young people, using a music theatre format of comic skits, song and dance.
  • Conservatorium Academy

The Conservatorium Academy provides music and theatre training as an extension to the dance, drama and music classes that young people may already by engaged in.

  • Jammin'

Jammin' enables high school students to participate in an intensive and inspirational music making experience.

  • Schools Jazz Festival
The CQUniversity Schools Jazz Festival will see your music students mentored by world class musicians and will deliver a weekend full of musical performances and educational activities.
