Thanks for choosing the BMusic (Creative Music Technologies) program at CQ University. This specialization is offered in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (SCIT). After completing the Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) at SCIT, student can apply for direct entry into the second year of the BMusic (Creative Music Technologies) program at CQ University. Once accepted, the BMusic (Creative Music Technol ogies) will take two years of full-time study to complete.
Student holding equivalent qualifications to the Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) from another institution are welcome to apply for entry into the BMusic (Creative Music Technologies).
How to Apply
Students applying for Direct Entry
Students applying for direct entry should have first completed the Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) at the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE. Once completed, applying for entry into the BMusic (creative music technologies) requires that you complete an on-line application for entry into the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music AND complete an direct entry application.

Students applying for Entry via Credit Transfer
Students applying for entry into the second year of the BMusic (creative music technologies) must have completed a Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) or equivalent. Applying for entry into the BMusic (creative music technologies) requires that you complete an on-line application for entry into the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, a QTAC application and an application for credit transfer. You will also be required to submit a resume and a portfolio of your work in the area of technical production.

The following guidelines may be useful in preparing you for the audition. While it is preferable for you to be competent in all the areas listed, consideration will be given to applicants on the basis of overall musicianship, technical skill and potential. Therefore, it is not a requirement for all the material you present to be from the guidelines.
Portfolio / Artist's Resume Guidelines
Applicants applying for credit transfer into the creative music technologies specialization should submit a portfolio of works containing:
A minimum of two recorded works on which you were the principal sound engineer.
A minimum of one recorded example of an original composition that demonstrates your use of creative audio production tools.
The artist's resume should detail the applicants previous experience in this area, including experience with live sound,
recording and music software systems.
In addition, applicant's should provide in writing the primary reasons for their interest in the program.
