Jammin’ is an initiative of the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM).  The aim of this project is to enable school aged students who are considering music as a possible career path to participate in practical music making with CQCM staff and students. The Jammin’ program has operated on the Mackay campus of Central Queensland University since 2006. In 2008 Jammin’ will also be offered in Cairns, in conjunction with Bentley Park College.

Luke McIntosh - former Jammin' student
Jammin’gave me a taste of University life and help me to make an informed decision about the course I was to undertake. The interaction I had with CQCM staff and students was a great extension of the things I was working on in my school music program. The Jammin’ experience helped ease the transition from school to University and develop friendships and contacts.
