Welcome to Mining Education and Research at CQUniversity.

CQUniversity, as a regional university, has a key mission to be actively engaged as a regional resource, providing teaching and research. Our campuses in Bundaberg, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay and Rockhampton give us a unique position at the operational heart of the Queensland mining, resources, minerals processing, energy and transport industries.

We are committed to working collaboratively to generate and to support initiatives that bring together the multifaceted strengths necessary to support industry with innovative teaching and research.

Networked cooperative engagement, that brings together partners from across the education and industry sectors, is the key characteristic of sustainable, flexible and productive partnerships. Our commitment is reflected in a wide range of relationships. Across the mining industry they include links with the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA), the Coalfields Engineering Skills Centre, the Mining Industry Skills Centre (MISC), the Queensland Resource Council (QRC), Mining Education Australia - the Universities of Queensland and New South Wales and the West Australian School of Mines (WASM) at Curtin University, Central Queensland Institute of TAFE (CQIT), the University of Southern Queensland, the Shandong University of Science and Technology, and mining companies such as BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), Anglo Coal, and Shandong Bureau of Coal Mine Safety and Supervision.

Relationships such as these underpin and support the collaborative teaching and research programs that are outlined on the following web pages. They are the tangible products that illustrate what can be achieved through partnership.
