2007 - Waterpark Creek

This year the Writer's Workshops will be held at the Waterpark Cabins, which are nestled in the tranquil rainforest in Byfield, located approximately 20 minutes drive north of Yeppoon, in Central Queensland.

We look forward to running a very special  writers workshop in 2007.  Waterpark Cabins, in Byfield Rainforest, has been booked for 7-9 September 2007.  We intend to have some excellent tutors, some exciting exploration of the forest and Waterpark Creek which is indeed one of the most unique ecosystems in the world.

Program

• Developing  a love of our precious environment
• Interaction with our local artists.  Kristin Hannaford will run Saturday morning’s session as our workshop poets and story tellers mingle with painters, potters and wood carvers  to discover  what is their passion.
  • This initiative between Idiom 23 and Capricorn Coast Artists will produce outcomes between writers and local artists which will be explored later at The Gallery, Emu Park.
• Blogs for All Intending Writers
  • how to build and maintain your very own writer’s website, with Bob Hay.
• Sunday lunch at Ferns’ Hideaway with music, poetry and prose.

Costs 

The weekend Writer's Workshops will cost $120.  This includes:

• accommodation in timber cabins for 2 nights,
• food for the weekend,
• workshop tuition,
• canoeing on the beautiful Waterpark Creek
• bush walking, BBQs, campfires.
