School of Business and Law

Professor Lee Di Milia

The School of Business and Law was established in 2012 by combining the School of Commerce and Law and School of Management and Marketing.

The School of Business and Law offers a range of professionally accredited programs which provide graduates with the necessary academic qualifications to continue to proceed into the relevant profession. Undergraduate programs in Accounting, Financial Planning, Law, and Property (valuation and management) are all professionally accredited.  The School also offers undergraduate programs in other disciplines such as Tourism, Professional Communication, Business Administration and Bachelor of Business degrees with specialisations in Marketing, Management, Human Resources Management, Information Systems and Procurement and Supply.  With the appropriate selection of courses graduates with a specific specialisation can become members of a relevant professional body. Both Domestic and International students have found these programs attractive.

At the postgraduate level qualifications are available at the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters level.  The Masters of Business Administration program offers an opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies across a number of discipline areas.  There are also more specialist Masters programs in Management, Marketing, Human Resources Management and International Business. There are also professionally accredited programs offered at the postgraduate level in Accounting, Financial Planning and Property which offer graduates in other areas an opportunity to gain a professional qualification usually via distance education.

For students who are interested in undertaking research there is an honours program in the Bachelor of Business, a Master of Business by research, a Doctor of Philosophy and a Doctor of Professional Studies.  It is possible to undertake research in any of the disciplines taught in the School even if the discipline is not offered as a program such as those in economics and finance.

Our programs are taught using both distance education and internal modes, and across a number of CQUniversity Campuses including Bundaberg, Mackay, Rockhampton and the school also offers programs on the Metropolitan campus including Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.  We also offer a range of programs through the Geraldton University Centre.

The School has had a long history of delivering programs by distance education as well as in face to face mode.  Some programs are now delivered exclusively by distance. The University has moved to enhance its online offerings and the School has continued to innovate with its three year undergraduate law program delivered principally online. Law students who have completed a certain number of courses are being provided with iPads to assist their online studies. Law courses are offered by both Moodle and through iTunes University.

Whether you are a prospective student considering your study options, or an academic looking for an exciting career change in regional Australia, the School of Business and Law at CQuniversity may be the right choice for you.
