The official CQUniversity student email account is the account communicated to for existing residents.

Electronic signage is situated in every building in the Student Residence and is used to communicate important dates and upcoming events.

Events

Each year the CQUniversity Student Residences jointly sponsor and present awards in recognition of academic achievement. The CQUniversity Student Residences presents an award for outstanding academic achievement and also offers four CQUniversity Student Residences Scholarships to the value of $1000 each, per year in recognition of academic achievement, community service and leadership by residents during their stay.

Housekeeping

Residents’ individual bedrooms are cleaned by the residence housekeeping staff each week, whilst the shared bathrooms and areas are cleaned regularly.

Mackay residents are responsible for cleaning in the shared kitchen facilities.

Pastoral Care and Personal Support

The Student Residences provides a safe, warm and hospitable community into which you are immediately welcomed. You are able to develop your own identity and level of involvement at the Student Residence. You even have the opportunity to apply for one of the many leadership positions available each year.

The Residential Life Team provide guidance and support to Student Residents during their residency. Ongoing pastoral care for those students in need of guidance, advice or support is provided in close conjunction with University counsellors and health services.

The high level of personal guidance, academic support and practical assistance provided better ensures that students continue with their studies long after many non-Residence students have given up.

The opportunity to live in such a caring and supportive community is dependent upon residents embracing standards of behaviour and appropriate attitudes that protect the equity, privacy, dignity and quality of life of all other residents.
