Living at Rockhampton Student Residence provides more opportunities for you to pursue your academic work, make new friends or develop new sporting, hobby and personal interests/skills.

Location

Rockhampton Student Residence is located in the grounds of CQUniversity's Rockhampton campus. An easy five minute walk along well lit paths will get you to University facilities such as faculty buildings, lecture theatres, library and the CQUniversity Sports Centre (incorporating a swimming pool, gym and sports stadium).

The Student Residence is also handy to two taverns and a suburban shopping centre.

Transport

The convenient location of the Rockhampton Student Residence means that private transport is not necessary. Regular complimentary bus services are operated for all residents, to major shopping centres and other outings.

For students who have their own transport, parking areas are available for residents' cars. A secure bicycle shed is also available.

Communal Living

Living in the Student Residence community will enable you to meet many other students from different places in Australia and around the world. You'll also get to know students studying different discipline/subjects from you.

The Junior Common Room is set up for residents to use and is equipped with:

• Commercial and satellite television
• Residents bar (Scholars Inn)
• Pool table
• Table tennis

Residential buildings have their own shared toilet/bathroom facilities, laundry and small kitchenette.

Meals

The meals provided by resident chefs are generous, varied and of a very high standard. The menu includes different styles of cooking and a wide range of foods to ensure a balanced diet.

Vegetarian meals are available for those who require them.

The kitchen can assist with special dietary requirements when required.

All meals are provided in a comfortable and impressive dining hall that caters for our large and friendly family-type community. Special arrangements can be made to cater for those who can’t come to the dining hall due to ill health or late meal requirements.

Carparks

Rockhampton Student Residence has car parks for residents and guests. These are located in well lit areas close to the buildings and are monitored by the University security and after-hour's duty team.

• 24 hour live in staff, including a Residential Assistant residing in each building
