Social, Recreational and Cultural Activities
The Residential Life Team provides a wide variety of sporting activities, social functions and services for Residents to better ensure that life on residence is fun, diverse and full of opportunities. Activities include sporting competitions, dances, video nights and much more.
Residents are eligible for appointment to the many leadership positions available each year within the Residential Life Team.

Student Peer Networks
The Residential Life Team hold regular meetings for residents undertaking the same program to give residents the opportunity to discuss courses and talk with students who are at different stages in their study. This can also be good for residents wanting to purchase second hand textbooks and can be a way to create new social connections between residents of Mackay Student Residence.
Music Conservatorium
The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) is part of the School of Creative and Performing Arts within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Informatics & Education of CQUniversity, with the responsibility for the overview and development of all aspects of music and theatre across the University.
Tutorial Support and Join-in
Student Leaders provide complimentary study assistance and support to residents. You will also have access to the Join-in Program which provides subject specific tutorial sessions. General tutorials are also held and may cover topics such as study skills, time management, assignment writing, CV and job applications.
Computer Facilities
Mackay Campus has a 24 hour computer lab providing access to computers and printers as well as photocopying facilities. All bedrooms are equipped with a network and broadband connection to enable access to the University’s computing services including the Internet. Wireless network is also available.
