Guest & Group Accommodation

The Student Residences are located on Rockhampton and Mackay campuses at CQUniversity. Each location offers a specific range of guest and group accommodation services. Please click on the relevant link below:

Rockhampton

The Rockhampton Student Residence provides budget accommodation for:

  • schools;
  • special interest; and
  • sporting and conference groups
With eleven individual residential buildings offering accommodation, the Student Residence can accommodate small or large groups.


The single-occupancy rooms offer both privacy and security. These carpeted rooms feature a single bed, a desk and chair, fan, curtains and security screens. Linen and housekeeping services are provided.

All residential buildings are equipped with full laundry facilities. While bathroom facilities are shared by a small group of residents, individual shower and toilet cubicles allow for complete privacy. If required bathroom amenities can be either gender specific or mixed.

Availability

For almost eight months of the year the student residence is home to CQUniversity students who make the most of its spacious grounds and proximity to the university teaching facilities and nearby attractions, however, on occasions some rooms may still be available during this time for external guests.

During University vacation the student residence is vacant and available to host a range of groups, from small groups of only ten people to large group conventions for over 300 people.

Recreation Facilities

The student residence has extensive, beautifully landscaped gardens that make it perfect for an evening stroll, a morning run, or burning off some of that extra energy. There are barbeque areas and a beach volleyball court, and it’s only a 5 minute walk from the on-campus swimming pool, sports stadium and gymnasium.

The Junior Common Room is equipped with cable/satellite television, a pool table and table tennis facilities.

Mackay

The Mackay Student Residence provides budget accommodation for schools, special interest, sporting and conference groups. With eleven individual residential buildings offering accommodation for 320 people, the Student Residence can accommodate small or large groups.

The Mackay Student Residence boasts modern accommodation facilities with rooms available in block-style accommodation. You may choose between:

  • 12 rooms with an ensuite
  • 10 rooms with shared bathrooms
  • 72 new rooms with personal ensuite, microwave, fridge, stove tops and private veranda
The Mackay Student Residence is located on the Mackay CQUniversity campus and is in a rapidly developing residential and shopping area. Each room is individually keyed and air conditioned.

CQUniversity Residential School Packages

CQUniversity students who are undertaking Residential Schools are welcome to stay at the Rockhampton or Mackay Student Residence (pending availability). The Rockhampton Student Residence includes meals within the accommodation package.

CQUniversity Staff Accommodation Packages

CQUniversity staff are welcome to stay at the Rockhampton or Mackay Student Residence (pending availability). The Rockhampton Student Residence includes meals within the accommodation package.
