Other Concerns

  1. What are my rights and responsibilities as a CQUniversity Student?
"Go to the Student Charter - then click on View Policy"

  2. I do not understand some official CQUniversity terms, definitions, words or phrases. What should I do?
"Go to the glossary - click on the term concerned.  If the term is not in the list, e-mail: student-ombudsman@cqu.edu.au "

  3. I know there are many forms to fill out during my time at CQUniversity. Where do I find them all?
"Use CQUniAnswers on the University home page, or go to Student Forms website and click on the form you need."

  4. I have a complaint about the way I have been treated by Student Administration. What should I do next?
Attempt to resolve the matter informally with the staff member concerned. If this does not work, contact the CQU Student Association Academic Advice & Advocacy Officer for advice on how to present your complaint, and after that, click here. Complete the complaint form, make a copy (screen shot) for your records, and hit "Submit". If this still does not resolve your concerns, e-mail student-ombudsman@cqu.edu.au and also fax your copy of the Complaint Form to me on (07) 4930 6741. If faxing from outside Australia , drop the first zero.

  5. I have a complaint about the way I have been treated by the Student Ombudsman or Student Services/Student Support Centre or some other agency of the University.
In the first instance, you should attempt to redress your concerns with the agency involved. If you are still left with unresolved grievances after that, you can email the contact point for the Deputy Vice Chancellor, University services at k.condon@cqu.edu.au.

  6. Apart from the questions above, I want to make a compliment, comment , or complaint about something, without necessarily going to your Office.  How do I do it?
Go to the Compliments, Comments, and Complaints Form. Complete the form and submit it as suggested.

  7. I have been through all the University channels suggested but wish to take this matter further.  What should I do?
You may seek external redress of your concerns through one of the agencies listed on the Wider Student Links hotlink on the left hand side of this website. The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission and/or the Queensland State Ombudsman may be able to offer you assistance and support in addressing your concerns.
