CQUniversity is a statutory authority established by the CQUniversity Act 1998 of the Queensland Parliament. As such the privacy regime for the Queensland public sector approved by the Queensland Government in 2001 in Information Standard No. 42 applies to the University.
The privacy scheme introduced in Queensland sets out the framework for the responsible collection and handling of personal information. It requires personal information to be managed in accordance with the eleven Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) that are contained in the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.
In implementing IS42, the University was required to adopt a Privacy Plan and a Privacy and Security Statement for use on the University's website.
If you have any queries about the CQUniversity Privacy Plan, please contact the legal office.
