Any document which will bind the University to ongoing duties and responsibilities whether of a financial nature or not should be sent to Chancellery for approval before signing.
Consultancy Agreements
A Standard Consultancy Agreement is used when engaging an external party to undertake services on behalf of the University. A consultancy agreement must be completed and executed prior to the commencement of the services. A copy is available through legaladvice@cqu.edu.au
Confidentiality Deeds are also available through legaladvice@cqu.edu.au
Copies of all contracts must be forwarded to Chancellery prior to signature.
Agreements prepared by an external party and agreements prepared by the Legal Office will be forwarded to the appropriate signatory by Chancellery.
Who signs a contract on behalf of the University?
Under the Financial Management Practice Manual contracts must be signed by an officer with the correct level of delegation. Chancellery staff can advise you however the policy of delegation is located here.

The General Retention and Disposal Schedule for Queensland Universities; endorsed by Queensland State Archives in 2005, outlines minimum retention requirements for University sector records.

Retain for 7 years after memoranda expires, or if no expiry date, retain for 25 years from date MOU signed. |
