New HPC User Information

To use the CQUni's HPC facilities, you will be required to obtain an HPC account.

Once an account has been obtained, you can login to the Cluster using the instructions found here.

Information on how to transfer files from your personal computer to the HPC system can be found here.

First time logging in

When logging on to the Einstein Cluster, your user's home directory will be created. If it doesn't occur, please contact HPC Support.

There are a number of procedures and documents that will assist you in using the HPC facilities. It is highly recommended that you have a look at these pages.

Executing programs on the cluster

The Einstein Cluster uses a job scheduler that allows you to schedule and run jobs on the various compute nodes. It is highly recommended that you have a look at PBS Commands with their Usage, especially the Sample qsub submission script.

To submit a job, simply execute the command:

qsub [pbs_script_file]

A handy command, to check if your job is running, queued or completed is by using the command:

qstat -an
