CQUniversity is committed to providing students with every opportunity to not only achieve success in their study, but also to enjoy their life while at university. The following student support services are provided at the Gladstone campus.
Student Services aims to maximise student success and enhance quality of life through the provision of professional services such as personal counselling, careers and vocational advice, academic skills, support and advocacy, student loans and budgeting, health information, interfaith Chaplaincy and First Year Experience activities such as mentoring and orientation week. The role of the counsellor is to help students and staff with problems that disrupt their personal development or academic progress. Practical help on specific matters is freely given, and referrals to a wide range of services and social welfare agencies can be arranged. You can make an appointment with the Gladstone counsellor by phoning 4970 7277.
The Mathematics Learning Centre (MLC) provides tutoring support to students completing a wide range of first and second year courses involving mathematical or statistical concepts. Additional services provided by the Centre include: diagnostic tests in mathematics to determine areas of weakness; counselling in how to learn mathematics; and preparatory programs helping students meet prerequisites. The MLC offers a number of drop-in sessions for students or individual appointments can also be arranged. For further information visit the MLC website or contact the MLC by emailing mlc-help@cqu.edu.au or phoning 4970 7308

It provides skills workshops and one-on-one assistance with assignments. To find out more about the CLC please visit the CLC website or contact Val Cleary 4970 7293 or Muriel Strahm 4970 7327.
The Student Association provides students with services, facilities, activities and representation that enhance student life both on and off the University's campuses. All CQUniversity students are members of the Association, and as such, have access to all of the Association's services. You can contact the Association by phoning 4970 7202, by e-mailing gladstone-cqusa@cqu.edu.au or you can visit their web page at CQUniversity Student Association.
The Cyril Golding Library provides state of the art resources and study facilities to CQUniversity students, students from other universities, senior school students and the general public. The local collection directly supports programs taught on campus. Students benefit from the added service of being able to borrow material from other CQUniversity campus libraries in Central Queensland. Modern computing facilities combine with varied seating arrangements and study areas to provide students with a pleasant and functional environment in which to study. For more information, please visit the CQUniversity Library website.
The Student Mentor program provides peer support to first-year internal students. Mentors are experienced students who can help first-year students access information and services pertaining to university life. Involvement in the Student Mentor program is voluntary, but the University encourages students to make the most of this support program during their first year on campus.
