CQUniversity is committed to providing students with every opportunity to not only achieve success in their study, but also to enjoy their life while at university. The Emerald Learning Centre provides access to the following student support services.

Student Association

The Student Association provides students with services, facilities, activities and representation that enhance student life both on and off the University's campuses. Members have access to all of the association's services. Emerald Student Association provides students with a common room located in Robertson House, fully equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave. The Learning Centre provides photocopying and binding facilities for a small fee to all students.

Library

Emerald Learning Centre offers students a small core reference collection, as well as computer access to the CQUniversity on-line library.

Communications Learning Centre (CLC)

The Communications Learning Centre helps students to develop and improve English communication skills such as reading, writing, delivering oral presentations and note taking.

Counselling, Careers & Health

CQUniversity staff are available to assist both secondary and mature-age students with preliminary program advice and information about the QTAC process. Counselling services can assist students in numerous areas of their personal and academic progress. Practical help on specific matters is freely given, and Emerald Learning Centre staff can arrange referrals to a wide range of services and agencies.

The CQUniversity Careers Councellor offers individual career and program advice periodically to students in the Emerald area.

Computer Facilities

Computer Laboratory

On-line access is provided through the campus student computer lab and can be accessed from 6am to 10pm.

Computers are available for student use in the library. Emerald Learning Centre also has a new computer teaching lab.
