Surveys and Evaluations

The Office of Learning and Teaching manages and coordinates a number of surveys and evaluations which provide CQUniversity with valuable feedback from our students and graduates. This feedback is used to assess, review and improve our courses and programs to enhance the overall student experience at CQUniversity.

Australian Graduate Survey (AGS)

The AGS is conducted each year by all Australian universities.  CQUniversity together with Graduate Careers Australia (GCA) conduct this survey of all students who have recently completed the requirements of a higher education qualification.

Course Evaluations

Course evaluations provide students with the opportunity to provide feedback on their course each term through the Moodle Learning Management System.  These completely anonymous evaluations open in Week 9 and close the Friday following the standard exam period.

International Student Barometer (ISB)

The ISB is the largest annual study of international students in the world, tracking the perceptions and motivations of students across five continents. The ISB is sent to all current international students at every year of study, including study abroad and exchange students. For more information about the ISB please visit the i-graduate website.

Teaching Evaluations

Teaching evaluations are used by individual members of academic staff to seek feedback from students on their teaching practice, through the Moodle Learning Management System. Teaching evaluations are confidential to individual staff and their supervisors – standard/customisable questions are available as Moodle templates for staff to use.

University Experience Survey (UES)

The UES is a new student survey, which is one of a number of initiatives being developed by the Australian Government. The UES is currently being managed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), to provide feedback from students across all Australian universities. For more information on the UES please visit the ACER website.

Beyond Graduation Survey (BGS)

The BGS is a follow up with graduates approximately three years after completing the requirements of a higher education award and also responded to the Australian Graduate Survey (AGS). This longitudinal study of Australian graduates provides findings around graduate course experience, educational relevance, employability skills and graduate outcomes. For more information about the BGS please visit the Graduate Careers Australia website.
