The Awards for Excellence in L&T are awarded annually to CQUniversity staff chosen from those who submit a nomination. The submissions are based on criteria and requirements available in the CQUniversity Policy website, and many resources will be made available in the staff portal documents area for the Office of Learning and Teaching. You can also contact our staff for more information.
There are four tiers to the awards, including:
Any application that meets the assessment criteria may be recommended for an award.
Maximum of 5 per Faculty, and 5 per Deputy Vice-Chancellor's portfolio (includes DVC International portfolio)
Maximum of 5 recommended from successful Tier 2 nominations
All recipients of CQUniversity Awards who are able to show evidence to support a nomination to the Australian Learning & Teaching Council (ALTC) Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT): Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, valued at $10,000 each and/or Awards for Teaching Excellence, valued at $25,000 each, will be identified during evaluation processes and will be offered support in nomination to the AAUT.
Programs that have been proven to enhance student learning and have sustained evidence to support claims are required for nomination to the Tier 4 process. Sustained evidence would normally be at least three years of consistently outstanding evaluations/results/feedback from various sources.
The Vice Chancellor's Awards for Excellence to Professional staff (EXCEL Awards) were re-instated in 2007. This is an annual award process to reward Professional staff based on their submission of an application which follows the policy guidelines. Vice-Chancellor's Customer Service Awards were inaugurated in 2007 to reward professional staff who showed excellence in Customer Service delivery. These recipients have been documented with the EXCEL Award recipients.
