As a multi-campus institution, CQUniversity acknowledges the importance of providing new academic staff with an opportunity to establish contacts and define relationships within and outside their work environment. Consistent with its commitment to staff development, CQUniversity promotes the practice of orientating new staff members.
This day long orientation is offered on all regional campuses (numbers permitting) and is mandatory for all new academic members of CQUniversity staff. This program explores principles and practices of tertiary learning and teaching, with a particular emphasis on the teaching contexts found at CQUniversity. This program is underpinned by policy and the Seven Principles of Good Practice in Undergraduate Education (Chickering & Gamson, 1987). The program also introduces staff to research, engagement and to our senior leaders including the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor.
Participant registrations are essential to allow for adequate preparations to be made.
The orientation program is currently running - the program is currently available in the staff portal. Prior to the next running, program information will also be made available in the Staff Portal.
Note: All new members of staff are also required to complete the University's Online Induction. More information can be obtained from the People and Culture Directorate.
