MONDAY 8 to WEDNESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2012, CQUNIVERSITY ROCKHAMPTON CAMPUS
It gives me great pleasure as Vice-Chancellor and President of CQUniversity Australia to host the tenth Evaluation Forum at CQUniversity Rockhampton, Queensland, from 8th to 10th October 2012.
The Forum is an annual event that promotes scholarship in higher education evaluation and provides an opportunity for academics, administrators, managers and practitioners from domestic and international institutions to gather and share knowledge and understanding in the niche discipline area of evaluation in higher education.
This is an ideal opportunity for networking across the higher education sector - government and private providers alike - underpinned by shared interests of quality in teaching and learning in a changing environment.
The forum theme for 2012 is" Embedding an internal evaluation culture ". Embedding the components of an effective evaluation system and developing the culture to support this provides the basis on which an institution can meet the challenge of external assessment and develop the internal capacity for undertaking internal self assessment. An internal evaluation culture cannot be embedded from above, and the participation of academics, administrators, managers and practitioners is integral in cultural change through sharing of good practice and experiences.
The forum program will represent the breadth and depth of evaluation practices and offer participants the chance to engage in scholarly discourse, discussion and exchange of practical understandings.
CQUniversity is very focused on fostering a culture of reflective practice and we welcome the opportunity the forum presents to find out more about what other institutions are doing in this space.
I look forward to welcoming participants on campus in 2012.
Scott.
