Refers to information you no longer use on a daily or weekly basis. Simply because you no longer have an active need for the information does not mean that you can dispose of it. CQUniversity is subject to a number of legislation dictating how long we keep our information and how we dispose of it.
All CQUni information must be disposed of according to the universities policies and guidelines.
Once you have determined that your information is inactive you can arrange to have it stored offsite with CQUniversity's offsite storage provider. Information that has been transferred offsite can be easily retrieved should you need it. Please refer to the procedure Transferring Information to and Retrieving Information from Corporate Governance Storage.
Refers to your inactive information that is considered of enduring value to the organisation. These records must be kept in perpetuity to meet our legislative obligations and build the history of our organsiation. This information must be transferred to Corporate Governance Directorate for long term storage and preservation.
Corporate Governance are the only area within CQUniversity with delegated authority to dispose of the organisation's information. If you believe your information does not need to be kept any longer and can be disposed please refer to the procedure Disposing of CQUniversity information.
CQUni information cannot be disposed without prior authorisation from Corporate Governance.
