In our changing and increasingly complex environment, we are continually expecting more from our leaders. Without effective tools to diagnose complex issues and understand the underlying elements within our teams, it can be extremely difficult to achieve and maintain high productivity and performance.
The aim of this program is to provide participants with tools and the opportunity to become self aware, highly effective leaders within their own roles. A key part of this is the opportunity for participants to implement their learning within the work environment.
The program covers:
Feedback received from the 2011 program strongly indicated that participants were in general not well supported in the implementation of their new skills. As a result, we have adapted the program to provide the opportunity for all participants to take responsibility for their own learning, through the development and implementation of their own Action Plan. Support through mentoring and also ideally from the individual's manager will be a key part of this program.
Participants from the 2011 program who would like to undertake a similar program extension are invited to contact the Professional Development Office (t.rutherford@cqu.edu.au) to express their interest.
The workshop is designed for middle and / or experienced managers looking to add to their leadership skills and toolkit. There will also be opportunities to network with colleagues, experiment and to reflect. To ensure we provide a quality program, attendance will be between eight and twelve participants only.
Two of the following staff will facilitate the program:
This program consists of three days of leadership skills development; ongoing action plan development and implementation, and a fourth half day of action outcome reports.
It is expected that participants will work on their action plans between sessions, and will report back to the group on the final half day session.
Bring notepad and pen to the program. Workbook will be provided.
Additional online resources will be made available during the program.
Three day workshop: 8.15am for an 8.30am start to 5.00pm finish. The three days will be spaced over several weeks.
Final presentation day: 8.15am for an 8.30am start to 1.00pm finish (approximately - dependent upon the number of presentations)
Note: These times are indicative only; it is respectful if participants arrive promptly to the session.

External applicants (non-CQUniversity staff) - $1,300 (ex. GST). Priority is given to CQUniversity staff members.
Due to the nature of the program, participants must complete the program in consecutive order. Missing a session will prevent the participant from continuing that particular program and they will instead have to join a later program to complete.
