Major Risk - Excessive Noise

When selecting a venue involving entertainment consideration should be given to the level of noise that may eminate from the venue before, during and after the event, particularly while patrons are entering and leaving the venue. Amplified music, motors, refrigeration equipment and generators can also create problems for local residents and businesses.

Licenses/Permits

If excessive noise is anticipated the Local Council should be consulted in the planning stage to determine if a permit to hold the event is required. A liquor license issued by Liquor Licensing Queensland may also impose noise restrictions on the event.

Risk Assessment

Event organisers must ensure that a Risk Assessment is conducted to address possible sources of noise. In addition, organisers must ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained prior to the event, and that all applicable noise requirements are adhered to at all times during the event.
