The CQUniversity Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Career Development Strategy, affirms the University's commitment to provide enhanced employment and career development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
With a strong rural and regional focus and a commitment to become Australia's most engaged University, CQUniversity provides an environment that embraces the positive cultural and social dynamic that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people bring to the workforce. The University also provides a work environment which welcomes and supports the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
In 2002 CQUniversity approved the Reconciliation Statement with a commitment to promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in the University with a focus on increasing employment. This Employment and Career Development Strategy enacts this commitment and, with assistance from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the University will work to achieve an increase in the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
I wholeheartedly endorse the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Career Development Strategy and encourage all University staff to consider how they can contribute to achieving its objectives.

Reconciliation Poster
This reconciliation statement jointly developed and jointly signed is, for CQUniversity, the first of many steps towards a lasting reconciliation. This is our future, a shared responsibility for this part of the earth with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a 'doctrina perpetua' a 'forever learning' process of reconciliation.
